April 14th, 2008 Dear Fellow Sportsmen, Our monthly meeting was held on Monday, April 7 at 7:30PM. President Philip A. Madonia III opened the meeting with a moment of silence for deceased members of the armed forces, followed by the pledge of allegiance. A special discussion was held regarding the pros and cons of establishing a conservation restriction (CR) for the FSC property to protect our land from future commercial development in perpetuity. The discussion ended with a motion to allow the club to negotiate with the state to protect 800+ acres from any future development within a CR. The motion recorded is for the FSC to put 800+ acres into a conservation restriction, while allowing the FSC to use and maintain the property the way that it has always done so in perpetuity – subject to the approval of the Officers and Directors. A vote was held with 55 members in favor of the motion with 1 opposed. The wording of the CR will be approved by the Officers and Directors and presented to the membership. According to our by laws, approval will be required from the membership for a total of 3 successive meetings in order for us to proceed. Your support has been duly noted and appreciated by the Officers and Directors of the Club. Thank you!
