Adult Members FISHING DERBY
April 25, 2010

On April 24, 2010 we stocked $1,500 worth Of Rainbow and Brook trout from Great Brook Trout Farm.  This equaled to 216.25 lbs. of fish at $7.00 per pound.

Our derby was held on April 25th.  33 people registered @ $10.00 each, equaling $330.00.  No one re-registered. Approximately 23 fish were caught.

It was quite a trying weekend.  Whitmanville Farm never showed up with the fish on Friday for the scheduled stocking.  When he was finally reached, he said he just forgot and he would try to find some fish.  Fortunately he contacted Great Brook Trout Farm from Bolton, Ma. who stocked the fish at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.  This late stocking, I feel, had a lot to do with the small amount of fish caught.

The prizes were $100.00 for first place; $75.00 for second place; and $50.00 for third place.

  Winners:

First place:  Jim Belliveau with a 13 ¾” Rainbow

Second and Third place:  Conrad Baranowski with two 12 ¼” Rainbows

Sincerely,

Leo Ross
